Things you need to know about Apple’s latest Wearable tech – Apple Watch

Tech giant Apple unveiled details about the much-hyped wearable tech!!

The first official shipping date for this highly-anticipated wearable and fashion device is slated for first shipment on 24 April 2015, with pre-orders starting on 10 April 2015. However, Singapore is not on the list of the first nine countries (Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Britain, United States) that will get the Apple Watch when it becomes available.

Some of the key things you need to know about this new toy from Apple: 

1. Two sizes, three styles

The Apple Watch will come in two sizes, 38mm and 42mm in height. It will also feature three styles for consumers to choose from – Apple Watch Sport, classic Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition.

a. Apple Watch Sport features a lightweight anodized aluminum case in silver and space gray with a Retina display protected by strengthened Ion-X glass and matching high-performance fluoroelastomer Sport Band in five colors.

b. The Apple Watch collection features highly polished stainless steel and space black stainless steel cases with a Retina display protected by sapphire crystal.

c. The Apple Watch collection comes with a choice of three different leather straps, a stainless steel link bracelet and Milanese loop, and a black or white Sport Band.

d. Apple Watch Edition features cases specially crafted from custom rose or yellow 18-karat gold alloys developed to be twice as hard as standard gold, a Retina display protected by polished sapphire crystal and a choice of uniquely designed straps and bands with 18-karat gold clasps, buckles or pins.

2. Highest end cost up to S$13,000

The cheapest in the device line-up is the Apple Watch Sport, priced at US$439 (S$483). The classic Apple Watch versions will go from US$549 to US$1,099. The Apple Watch Edition is the most expensive and will cost at least US$10,000 (S$13,000), as it is crafted from custom rose or yellow 18-karat gold alloys.

3. Defining the user experience
