Most CIOs and IT managers are certainly aware of the reality that before taking such a big step, they need to enhance their security needs and ask about crucial aspects like reliability and scalability. Have a look.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Be prepared to deal with Legacy Systems<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Every enterprise has about 20% of old, legacy systems, which are hard to re-construct or are fundamentally built not to accommodate the cloud. Check out for that percentage before making any migration move, which might cause you the real trouble.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIf you have legacy systems, you need to rethink before making any cloud migration to decide whether to rejigger or rebuild them all together to work in the cloud.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Never neglect a strong network connection<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eric Geiger, vice president of IT operations at Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago said, \u201cIT leaders need to make sure they have a good network connection. It&#8217;s easy to forget and it can make a big difference\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Connecting to the cloud through your VPN is fine, but if you have offices in Chicago and you&#8217;re connecting with Virginia, that latency can become frustrating,&#8221; Geiger said. &#8220;And that latency can become a little obnoxious. Make sure you pay a lot of attention to that networking component. How you get there is a big part of it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cHaving a strong network connection is a must when it comes to Cloud Migration. Or else the latency to get connected with Cloud can be really frustrating.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Moving to the cloud will be harder without the right people in the right jobs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>John Trujillo, assistant vice president of technology at Pacific Life Insurance Co., says, &#8220;You have to re-evaluate the way you&#8217;re organized&#8221;. &#8220;The old organizational structures don&#8217;t apply. If you have a firewall person and a storage person, those jobs are now on a dashboard that a single engineer can adjust. What&#8217;s the best way to be organized with these new capabilities?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cCloud Migration means changing the human resource too.
