WeChat, which has over 600 million monthly active users, said in a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.wechat.com\/2015\/09\/19\/fixed-security-flaw-in-wechat-v6-2-5-for-ios\/\">blog post<\/a>\u00a0that the exploit only affected a prior version of the app released on September 10th; the present version, released two days later, is clean.<\/p>\n<p>Security firm Palo Alto Networks investigated XcodeGhost and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/researchcenter.paloaltonetworks.com\/2015\/09\/update-xcodeghost-attacker-can-phish-passwords-and-open-urls-though-infected-apps\/\">concluded<\/a>\u00a0that it was able to prompt fake phishing dialogs, open URLs, and read and write clipboard data, leading the company to call it a &#8220;very harmful and dangerous&#8221; piece of malware that has affected at least 39 apps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Content Via:\u00a0theverge<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apple has removed all malware-infected apps from the App Store after acknowledging its first sustained security breach.
