SMS Malware Spreads on Android Phones in Singapore
Shockingly, an SMS Virus has been rapidly spreading across Android phones in Singapore. The Singapore Computer Emergency Response Team much popular as SingCERT also posted the warning on its website.
The Virus message reads “is this your photo?” It is accompanied by a short link. If you click on this link, it prompts you to download a mobile application called the ‘PhotoViewer.’ If you agree to download the application, a malware will be downloaded straight to your phone.
This is no ordinary malware, it will have access to the user’s contact list, and will send SMS’s from your phone to all your contacts.
It is suggested that users should immediately delete any such messages. In case you’ve already downloaded the application, uninstall it from the phone.
